Getting Started

What you need before using Connector

Connector is a client app only — it does not come with servers. Before connecting you need a VLESS configuration, which is one of:

Quick start steps

  1. Install Connector from the App Store.
  2. Tap + and import your VLESS config link, QR code, or subscription URL.
  3. Select a profile from the list.
  4. Tap Connect and allow the VPN permission when iOS asks.
  5. Look for the key icon in the status bar — that confirms you're connected.
  6. Tap Disconnect inside the app to stop the VPN at any time.

Frequently Asked Questions

What is Connector?
Connector is a lightweight VPN client for iPhone that supports the VLESS protocol (also compatible with V2Ray-based configurations). It lets you import your own server configs, manage multiple profiles, and connect through iOS's built-in Network Extension (Packet Tunnel). The app does not provide, sell, or host any VPN servers.
What is VLESS / V2Ray?
VLESS is a modern, lightweight proxy protocol used in privacy-oriented VPN tools. V2Ray is an open-source proxy framework that supports multiple protocols including VLESS. To use Connector you need a VLESS server that you own or have been given access to — the app only connects to servers you configure yourself.
How do I import a VLESS config link?

You can import a VLESS config in three ways:

  1. Paste a link: Tap the + button, choose "Import from link", and paste a URL starting with vless://.
  2. Scan a QR code: Tap the + button, choose "Scan QR code", and point your camera at a VLESS QR code. Allow Camera access when iOS asks.
  3. Subscription URL: Tap the + button, choose "Add subscription", and paste the subscription URL your provider gave you. Connector will fetch and save all profiles from the subscription.
How do I connect to the VPN?
  1. Open Connector and make sure you have at least one imported profile.
  2. Select the profile or server you want to use.
  3. Tap Connect.
  4. When iOS asks for permission to add a VPN configuration, tap Allow. You may need to authenticate with Face ID or passcode.
  5. The VPN icon (a small key) will appear in the iOS status bar when connected.

To disconnect, open the app and tap Disconnect, or use the VPN toggle in iOS Settings.

The app asks for VPN permission — is that normal?
Yes. Every VPN app on iOS must ask for permission to create and manage a VPN configuration on your device. This is an iOS system requirement, not specific to Connector. You can revoke the permission at any time in iOS Settings → General → VPN & Device Management.
Why won't the VPN connect?

Common reasons and fixes:

  • Invalid or expired config: The server address, port, or credentials in your VLESS config may be wrong or have changed. Check with your provider.
  • Server is offline or blocked: The server you selected may be temporarily down or blocked by your current network. Try a different profile or network (e.g. switch from Wi-Fi to cellular).
  • No internet connection: Connector needs internet access before it can start the VPN tunnel. Make sure you can load a webpage first.
  • Stale iOS VPN config: Go to iOS Settings → General → VPN & Device Management → VPN, and remove old Connector entries, then reconnect from the app.
  • App needs a restart: Force-close Connector and reopen it, then try connecting again.
How do I update my subscription profiles?
Open Connector, go to your subscription entry, and tap Refresh (or pull to refresh if available). The app will re-fetch the subscription URL and update the list of available servers. Make sure you have an active internet connection when refreshing.
A server shows high latency or is marked unavailable — what does that mean?
Connector periodically pings your saved servers to check reachability. High latency means the server is slow to respond from your current location or network. 'Unavailable' means the server did not respond within the timeout. This can be caused by the server being offline, your network blocking it, or temporary congestion. Try a different server or network.
The QR code scanner isn't working
  • Go to iOS Settings → Privacy & Security → Camera and make sure Connector has Camera access enabled.
  • Make sure the QR code is well-lit and contains a valid vless:// link.
  • If scanning doesn't work, copy the link text and paste it manually using the "Import from link" option.
Does Connector provide VPN servers?
No. Connector is a client-only app. It does not provide, sell, or host any VPN servers. You must supply your own VLESS server configuration, either from a server you control or from a subscription service you have separately signed up for.
Does Connector collect or log my browsing data?
No. Connector does not collect, log, or transmit your browsing history, DNS queries, or traffic contents. All VPN configuration data is stored locally on your device. See our Privacy Policy for full details.
Will the VPN reconnect automatically if it drops?
Connector supports automatic reconnection on unexpected disconnects. If the VPN drops due to a network change (e.g. switching from Wi-Fi to cellular), iOS may pause and resume the tunnel automatically. You can also manually reconnect from the app at any time.
Why do the widgets or Live Activity show outdated info?
iOS controls when widgets refresh in the background to conserve battery. After installing or updating Connector, open the app once so the shared widget data is initialized. If a widget still shows stale info, remove it from your Home Screen and add it again.
How do I delete a profile or subscription?
In the profiles list, swipe left on any profile or subscription entry to reveal a Delete button. Tap Delete to remove it. Deleting a profile does not automatically remove the VPN configuration from iOS Settings — you can do that separately in iOS Settings → General → VPN & Device Management.
Is Connector available on iPad or Mac?
Connector is currently built for iPhone. iPad support depends on the version available in the App Store. Mac (macOS) is not supported.

Troubleshooting Checklist

If Connector isn't working as expected, go through these steps before contacting support:

  1. Confirm you have an active internet connection without the VPN.
  2. Check that your VLESS config or subscription is valid and up to date.
  3. Try a different server from your subscription list.
  4. Switch networks (Wi-Fi ↔ cellular) and try again.
  5. Go to iOS Settings → General → VPN & Device Management → VPN and remove old Connector entries, then reconnect.
  6. Force-close Connector and reopen it.
  7. Restart your iPhone.
  8. If Camera isn't working: iOS Settings → Privacy & Security → Camera → Connector → enable access.

If none of the above helps, email support@connectorclient.online with your iOS version, device model, app version, and what you tried.

Responsible Use

Connector must be used only with VPN configurations you are authorized to access. Users are responsible for complying with local laws, workplace or school network policies, and the terms of any VPN service or subscription they use. Connector does not monitor or filter how the app is used.
